National Centre for Advocacy Studies (NCAS) Pune, is a membership based social change resource centre working with social action groups, public interest professionals, policy makers, researchers, media professionals and people from India and South Asia. NCAS was founded in 1992 for promoting participatory, rights based, people-centred policy environment for the advancement of democratic governance, human rights and social justice.

NCAS is in the process of recruiting the Executive Director (ED) and looking for an experienced and inspiring leader with respect and commitment to human rights, social justice, sustainable development and values of secularism, diversity and equity.
The applicant should have excellent leadership quality and programme management experience in a civil society or research organisation to build, nurture and lead a committed multi-disciplinary team and to effectively manage the organisation. The candidate must have proven networking skills, the ability to influence policy makers and work in collaboration with partner organisations. The candidate must have a postgraduate degree in Social Sciences/Human Rights/Law or related field with significant and credible experience of advocacy capacity building, campaign initiatives, networking, research and fundraising
Job Profile and Responsibilities:
The Executive Director is the Chief Functionary of NCAS. S/he has autonomy in functioning and the responsibility of leading the organisation to build its public profile, develop programme framework, raise resources, and ensure institutional sustainability with a futuristic perspective. S/he plays a crucial role in translating organisation’s vision into programmes and activities by instilling confidence in donors as well as communities NCAS works with. Compensation would be comparable to the Associate Professor’s scale of the UGC along with the usual PF, Gratuity, Health Insurance etc.
