Land Acquisition & Rehabilitation & Resettlement Bill (LA & RR) Consultation Report and Recommendations

On August 31, 2011 NCAS addressed a letter to Shri Jairam Ramesh, enclosing recommendations to the government on the draft Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill. These recommendations emerged from a National Consultation and Land Acquisition and Lad Redistribution organized by NCAS on August 24, 2011.

Activists’ Workshop TSP in Maharashtra - Implementation and Issues

NCAS held a day-long workshop on TSP in Maharashtra for activists working on issues of adivasis in Maharashtra on July 28, 2011 in Pune. The workshop was held in collaboration with BAIF Development Research Foundation. The main objectives of the workshop were to build basic understanding of TSP among the activists and initiate the process of interaction on TSP between people in different corners of the state.

Journalist Kuldip Nayar visits Pune

On 29th and 30th July, 2011 eminent journalist Kuldip Nayar visited the National Centre for Advocacy Studies. This visit was an extension of NCAS’s advocacy support initiative in South Asia. Nayar’s visit was spread over two programmes. On the 30th morning, he spoke with the journalists and students of journalism. In the evening, on the same day, he interacted with youth groups and the public at large.
