NCAS has a
long history of public advocacy on a wide range of social causes,
particularly on issues that concern the marginalised sections of society. It undertook a national-level Grassroots Advocacy Initiative
in 2001 to help these marginalised sections develop the capability to advocate for themselves, evolving an action-cum-learning strategy, called the Community Learning Movement (CLM), to empower community leaders to take up this crucial role.
CLM is one of the most significant milestones in NCAS’s quest for substantive and real democracy. As an institution, NCAS is committed to the idea of CLM and views CLM as the most important learning ground for people centered advocacy.
