Shastri Ramachandaran, Executive Director

 

Shastri Ramachandaran joined NCAS in January 2012. He has an experience of 36 years in journalism - as a reporter, editor and writer with leading dailies in India and abroad, including Global Times (China), The Times of India, The Tribune, Indian Express, Deccan Herald and Sunday Mail. South Asia and China are his areas of special interest. Shastri has reported and written extensively on civil and human rights, development, peace and conflict resolution, disarmament and media’s role in society and empowerment. Besides commentaries on foreign affairs and politics, he has authored books, studies, monographs, reports and papers. He is co-editor of the book State of Nepal and co-author of Media, Conflict & Peace; Civil & Human Rights of Agricultural Labourers in Tamil Nadu.  In 2006, he contributed a paper on ‘Role of Media in Conflict Situations’ to the Administrative Reforms Commission.

 

 

Prasanna Invally, Programme Coordinator

Prasanna is a post-graduate in Social Work and has experience of over 17 years in the field of social work and especially on the subject of women’s rights and violence against women. Prasanna is also the trustee of the NGO – ‘Susamvad’ which she initiated in 1995. The John D and Catherine T MacArthur Foundation for leadership development had awarded a two-year fellowship in the year 2001. Prasanna is presently coordinating the Advocacy Capacity Building Programme of NCAS.

Lata Pratibha Madhukar, Programme Coordinator

 

Lata joined NCAS in October, 2007. With a M.A. in Marathi Literature and a Bachelor of Journalism from Nagpur University,  Lata has worked with the Women's Centre in Mumbai, led campaigns against sex determination tests, and participated in women's rights movements. Before joining NCAS, Lata worked as a Coordinator for Narmada Bachao Andolan and the struggle against Enron. She was National Convenor for National Alliance of People's Movement (NAPM). At NCAS, Lata focuses on advocacy campaigns and Capacity Building.
