Vision & Mission:
The National Centre for Advocacy Studies (NCAS) is a social change resource centre working with social action groups, public interest professionals, and people from all over India and the Global South. NCAS engages a participatory, people-centred policy that enables people on all levels of society to advocate for human rights and social justice. As a social change resource centre, NCAS builds and bridges ideas, people, and perspectives for the advancement of human rights and social justice.
Journey:
NCAS opened its doors in 1992 with the aim of empowering people with the necessary knowledge and skills to create a just and humane society. As a result of the work of several social justice leaders, there was a felt need for an advocacy centre that would serve as a national level resource centre for social action groups and activists from all over India. This paved the way for the establishment of the National Centre for Advocacy Studies.
Documents of Governance:
NCAS believes in the full and complete transparency of its work. In order to best facilitate the quality of its role as a resource centre, NCAS strives to create an open space where all NCAS members and guests can understand NCAS’ stance on the social justice issues it confronts, as well as the policy measures it seeks to change.
